Nino Franco, with First Lord of Prosecco
Primo Franco is the lord of Prosecco. It was he, in fact, who gave a modern approach to the family business, founded by his grandfather in 1919 (he lavishly celebrated his centennial), focusing on the Glera grape and the Valdobbiadene terroir. A graduate of the Conegliano Veneto school, full of enthusiasm, since the 1970s he devoted himself to developing production activities in the company and sales activities abroad, winning palates all over the world.
Canevel Sparkling Wines
and Masi
It has been 45 years since Mario Caramel founded the company in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene in 1979. Soon the echo of fame was heard everywhere, thanks in part to the far-sighted vision of integrating the entire production chain. Today’s sparkling wines follow the Setàge protocol, from the union of the words silk and perlage, a Charmat method that yields fine, elegant bubbles. In 2016, Canevel became part of the Masi Agricola Group, sharing the same vision linked to the values of the founding families.
Adami and the Garden Vineyard
The setting is that of the hills of the Marca Trevigiana, close to the first Dolomite peaks. It is 1920 and Abele Adami buys from Count Balbi Valier a beautiful vineyard full of promise: Vigneto Giardino, which immediately proves to be prodigal with grapes for wines of great quality. Abele and his son Adriano thus create the house Prosecco Adami. Today, Armando and Franco, both oenologists, have the task of carrying on such a deep-rooted family tradition, renewing their fathers’ passion and experience with the culture and tools of modernity.
Masottina and the many quality selections
The Dal Bianco family with Masottina gives voice to as many as 280 hectares, mostly planted with Glera grapes, for the production of Prosecco Doc and Conegliano Valdobbiadene Docg among the most awarded and appreciated ever. There are several selections they offer, for Prosecco we point out the ViaVenti line, while for Conegliano we must mention the RDO project, Rive di Ogliano, which consists of keeping east-facing grapes separate from west-facing grapes to produce two different expressions of the same wine. Each finds its balance with a different dosage.
