La Cantina di Dorgali is an important growing entity and one of the most important cooperatives in Sardinia. Founded in 1953, it is located in the Classic area of the appellationbetween the Gulf of Orosei and the Supramonte in one of the most striking areas of the island, where sea and mountains combine a rare example of territoriality.

There are 550 hectares under vine divided among an army of 220 contributing members. Label production is quite extensive although mainly focused on the typical grape of the area, the Cannonau, although there is no shortage of some interesting white wines. This is a very qualitatively sound range with an enviable price/quality ratio.

A few years ago, a qualitative upgrading project The results of which can be seen. As recounted on the company website, “Improvement changes began from the vineyard, through a different culture and cultivation of productions, focusing on low yields per strain and scheduling all processing up to the harvest. In winery then, the technologies are not sophisticated, but appropriate to the need to enhance the varietal characteristics of Cannonau and other indigenous grape varieties in the area.”

Through this new approach, the winery has reclaimed its true identity through the territory, succeeding in growing and enhancing the wines produced.
