Starting this week, a new video feature dedicated to the wines we awarded in The Essential Guide to Italian Wines 2025 begins.
Anyone who follows the DoctorWine network knows that the pillars on which it rests are the wine tastings. Degustazioni che tutti noi (a partire dal director Daniele Cernilli, but also we who are his team) do all the time around Italy. At consortiums and companies, during events or fairs of various kinds.
Tastings that we then tell you about, trying to give you an understanding of what the wines we taste are like., what stories are behind each of them, whether there is relevance to the type they represent, whether they are identity of a territory or not. We do this with our online articles, we do it in the printed guides we publish (primarily The Essential Guide to Italian Wines), we also do it in the form of videos.

And it is precisely the videos that I want to focus on today, since our YouTube channel, where they are posted, is constantly being enriched with new content. The birth of the the channel dates back to 15 years ago, together with the website, and since then we’ve published 458 videos of different subjects. At first mainly interviews with the protagonists of the wine world, then a few seminars, speeches at conferences, the “DoctorWine responds” column. But starting with the 2020 lockdown mostly tastings.
The columns “The Wines of Quarantine,” “The Wines of Restart,” and “DoctorWine Tastes” are all examples of the extensive outreach work we do starting with a simple glass of wine. We talk about wines and territories, appellations and producers, everything concentrated in few minutes of recording.
And, thanks to the possibilities of translation and dubbing in different languages offered by the artificial intelligence, we also have English versions of many of these videos.
Wines awarded 2025
Starting this week, a new column, “Tasted for You by DoctorWine,” is born, dedicated to the wines that-in the 2025 edition of The Essential Guide – have been awarded with the DoctorWine Seal, that is, with a score starting from 95 cents. Evaluations in guarantee of which Daniele Cernilli exposes himself in the first person, “puts his face to it” (hence the locution and the little face symbol).
These are therefore wines of the highest level, many of them known and appreciated even in the international arena, others less known but no less valuable. They are presented by Daniele Cernilli who, with his usual clear and brilliant style, introduces us to the knowledge of these true stars of Italian vitienology.
The first series, consisting of 20 videos, will be published by Christmas, starting tomorrow, one wine a day.
