Nizza Docg, gioiello del Monferrato

Great wine, an expression of the Monferrato area, among undulating vineyards, ancient castles and historic villages.

In the beating heart of Monferrato, between the meandering Belbo stream and the crystal-clear waters of the Rio Nizza, stands Nizza Monferrato. A city of rare beauty that holds within it a priceless enological jewel, the Nizza Docg. This controlled and guaranteed designation of origin is the flagship of Piedmont’s wine production, representing the highest and purest expression of Barbera. A regal grape variety that finds its highest expression in this territory.

The Nizza Docg production area, recognized in 2014, stretches across 18 municipalities, each contributing its own peculiarities to the creation of a wine of excellence. From Agliano Terme to Vinchio, passing through the heart of Nizza Monferrato, every corner of this land is permeated with a wine history that is inextricably intertwined with local culture and traditions.

The Nice Producers Association

The Nizza Producers’ Association, founded in 2002, was immediately committed to the enhancement and promotion of this extraordinary wine, which soon became an internationally recognized symbol of quality and excellence. Thanks to the constant efforts of the Consortium Barbera d’Asti and wines of Monferrato, Nizza since 2014 has obtained the DOCG. A protection that guarantees its very high quality, the result of a production specification that imposes strict and rigorous standards, both in the cultivation of grapes and in winemaking techniques.
