Cuvage: the evolution of the Piedmontese Metodo Classico.

Cuvage: l’evoluzione del Metodo Classico piemontese

Cuvage is an oenological universe dedicated to the Metodo Classico, created with the intention of handing down the ancient sparkling wine tradition of Piedmont.

Cuvage is an enological universe dedicated to the Metodo Classico.
The winery was founded in 2011 in Acqui Terme, on the rolling hills of the Monferrato recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The intent is to pass on the ancient sparkling wine tradition of Piedmont, alongside experimental elements aimed at emphasizing the identity of the territory.

Cuvage vineyards

A modern project inspired by the history of the Italian Metodo Classico.
A history that began in Piedmont itself in the 1800s thanks to the Counts of Sambuy, who planted the first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards to produce sparkling wines modeled after those of Champagne, and to the vision of Carlo Gancia, who studied French sparkling wine techniques in depth.

Cuvage Today

Today Cuvage operates on 86 hectares of selected vineyards, in close collaboration with the land and the people who work there.
It follows a careful and attentive approach at every stage, from harvesting to winemaking.
Alongside Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, Cuvage is also dedicated to making sparkling wine from iconic Piedmont grape varieties such as Nebbiolo and Moscato.
With these two varieties, it gives birth to two Metodo Classico wines: Nebbiolo d’Alba Rosé Brut, a rosé with a fine and persistent perlage that ages on the lees for more than 24 months, and Moscato Dogc Millesimato, a sweet sparkling wine with golden hues that expresses all the aromas of this incredible aromatic grape.

The Alta Langa

At the heart of Cuvage’s production today isAlta Langa, a controlled and guaranteed designation of origin that represents the highest expression of Piedmont’s Metodo Classico.

Cuvage’s Alta Langa is made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, matures on the lees for more than 30 months and then rests in the bottle for an additional 6 months.
A process that requires a long wait and constant attention, giving the final product a unique complexity and richness.
To the glass it is straw yellow in color with golden highlights.
The perlage is of very fine grain and great persistence.
The aromas are characterized by sensations of bread crust and a minerality reminiscent of flint; then the character of the Cuvée emerges, which expresses itself with ripe yellow fruit and at the same time nuances of currants to finally reveal floral notes reminiscent of wisteria.

The Boutique, a place of experience and discovery

Cuvage is not just a winery.
Part of the Argea Group since 2021, over the years it has in fact established itself as a place of experience and discovery.
Here visitors can immerse themselves in the world of sparkling wines through guided tours, tastings and experiential workshops.
The facility, enhanced in 2020 with the Boutique dedicated to hospitality and wine tourism, offers an exciting journey into the heart of Metodo Classico sparkling wine by creating immersive sensory experiences.
