To learn about Pala

The Pala family’s passion for viticulture began in the early 1900s with Battistino Pala, born in 1873. It was his son Salvatore who, in 1950, founded the Pala winery in Serdiana, a few kilometers from Cagliari. The winery grew and in 1974 Salvatore moved it to the center of the village, to a larger space that retains the typical structure of the Campidanese house: a courtyard bordered by rather high perimeter walls, where the main building is constructed of wood and tiles. His son Mario, in the decade 1980-1990, began the restructuring of the vineyards and studied how to refine quality and production.
In addition to Nuragus and Monica, he planted vineyards in Vermentino, Bovale and Cannonau, whose reserve is award-winning. The path to quality production, with rationalization of vineyards and cellar, is unstoppable.
