New strategic arrangement for Caviro

The wine division is divided into two new segments: Cantine Caviro and Tenute Caviro. The premium hub is strengthened with the appointment of Giovanni Lai, who adds Leonardo da Vinci to Cesari’s leadership.

New strategy for Caviro, Italy’s largest winery, which is reorganizing its wine division by evolving it into two assets. The goal is to enhance each individual production reality. On the one hand, we find Cantine Caviro. That is, all the brands that are the highest expression of the winemaking members, from North to South. Starting with Tavernello-a complete synthesis of Caviro’s supply chain-to territorial specificities such as Feudo Apuliano, Vigneti Romio or Fatascià.

On the other, it opens the new chapter of Tenute Caviro, which, as of today, outlines the Chianti and Valpolicella territories where the Group boasts proprietary estates. Leonardo Da Vinci Spa and Cesari Spa, from which they produce wines that are strongly linked to the territory and of value such as Chianti and Amarone. The helm of Tenute Caviro is Giovanni Lai, formerly at the helm of Cesari, who also assumes the position of General Manager of Leonardo Da Vinci. Known for producing wines that span a wide range of appellations such as Chianti. Thus becoming the point of reference for the division, with a mission to converge the two companies into a single hub. The project sees its commercial strength in domestic distribution through the company owned by Dalle Vigne and the unified export sales network under the leadership of Luisa Bortolotto, Foreign Sales Director.

This new set-up is aimed at strengthening the synergy between the various companies of the Group and the people who work there by giving a strong and distinctive identity to the two souls of Caviro,” explains Giampaolo Bassetti, General Manager of Caviro Group. On the one hand, Cantine Caviro, which will continue on its path of consolidation, and on the other, the new Estates Division. The further step to integrate the commercial proposition worldwide, in which we have been investing for years, and the decision to entrust Giovanni Lai with the strategic management of this new asset goes precisely in this direction.”

I welcomed with great enthusiasm the Group’s desire to place me at the helm of Tenute Caviro with the aim of enhancing the realities rooted in Italy’s most vocated wine-growing areas, enhancing them also through the targeted offer of hospitality. In addition to our presence today in Veneto and Tuscany, we also look with interest at other territories where our members produce. To strengthen and evolve to the maximum the quality that each individual area can express.” Giovanni Lai, general manager of Cesari and Leonardo Da Vinci, comments.
