The work of the Tasting Commission of Enoteca Italiana Siena begins, which will have to select the wines that will be featured in the premises of the Fortezza Medicea. Among the professionals chosen is our Stefania Vinciguerra.
After greetings from President Elena D’Aquanno and Foundation Vice President Mario Valgimigli, the names of those who will have to select the Italian wines that will be featured in the national museum of Enoteca Italiana Siena were presented. These are some of the most distinguished professionals in the world of Italian wine: oenologists, sommeliers, and journalists.
Greetings from the president of Enoteca Italiana Elena D’Aquenna
“The official presentation of the Tasting Commission of Enoteca Italiana Siena represents a key moment in our journey to enhance and promote Italian wine excellence,” said President Elena D’Aquanno. – Our mission has always been to celebrate excellence by positioning ourselves as a point of reference for wine and food culture not only in Italy, but around the world. Today, thanks to this Tasting Commission, we take a further step toward strengthening our identity and commitment to excellence. I would like to thank all the commissioners for accepting this invitation and for the contribution they will make to our project. The commission will be in charge of screening the wines that will be eligible for admission to the national museum being built at the site in Siena’s Fortezza Medicea. There will be two wine sections, one will cover Tuscany, the other the national territory “.
“Enoteca Italiana Siena is pleased to announce, in keeping with the tradition of the Historic Brand represented, the establishment of a new Wine Selection Committee, which brings together some of the representatives of Italian excellence in the world of wine,” said Enoteca Italiana Siena Foundation vice president Mario Valgimigli. – These have enthusiastically joined the project, sharing the mission of promoting and enhancing, all together, Italian wine“.
The presence of a wine in Enoteca Italiana Siena’s selection has always been a source of pride and value. The committee will therefore constitute a nucleus of absolute quality, representative of the excellence of each Italian region, with international promotion.
The head of the wine committee, winemaker Jacopo Vagaggini
“Our committee has a fundamental responsibility: the wines should represent the quality and excellence of our country,” explained wine committee head Jacopo Vagaggini . – For this reason, one of the first goals will be to adopt rigorous and transparent evaluation criteria. Only wines that achieve an average score above a certain threshold will be admitted, but we will also evaluate other factors that espouse the Enoteca’s philosophy, including the sustainability of the production process, the wholesomeness of the product and its territoriality. The wines that pass this selection will then be evaluated on the basis of brand integrity, after which they will become part of this beautiful family called Enoteca Italiana Siena.”
