The publication – 2 months earlier than last year – of the rankings for the CMO Promotion call for proposals finally allows wine companies to better plan their campaigns in non-EU countries.
Positive opinion of the Italian Wine Union
“It hasn’t happened for a long time, and for this we have to give credit to the Ministry of Agriculture (Masaf),” says the Italian Wine Union (UIV), referring to the publication – yesterday – of the Directorial Decree on the measure “Promotion on third country markets of the CMO wine.”
The provisional ranking list of the call for national projects assigns contributions for 28.5 million euros, out of a total investment that will be put in place by wine companies and partnerships of about 66.5 million euros.
The resources for the 2024-2025 campaign,” Uiv notes, “are of particular importance given the need to broaden market scenarios on a global scale, which are also increasingly strategic in view of widespread volatility in wine demand.
For this reason, the acceleration of the evaluation timeframe imposed by the ministry is significant.
Uiv also highlights how, within the limits of the rigidities of the current Decree in force, this year’s call for proposals proved to be better in terms of bureaucratic simplification and identification of objective elements in the evaluation of projects.
Appreciation also from Federvini
The news was also welcomed by.
Federvini, the Italian Federation of Industrial Producers, Exporters and Importers of Wines, Spirits, Liqueurs, Syrups, Vinegars and Related, which is strongly committed to promoting the recognition of these fundamental components of the Italian agri-food sector. ” Although provisional, the ranking list published deserves to be welcomed.
Federvini appreciates MASAF’s attention to the domestic wine sector, a sector that is a pillar of Italian food & beverage with 19 percent of total exports and that today faces significant challenges nationally and internationally.” declares Albiera Antinori, President of Federvini’s Wines Group.
But the work does not stop here: while the wineries will be busy launching promotional activities for the new year with the Christmas holiday period now just around the corner, “we are asking the Ministry for a further effort by starting a discussion table already in the coming weeks to find those adjustments that are still necessary to secure once and for all this measure that is fundamental for the competitiveness of Italian wine in the world,” concludes Federvini President.
