Casa Sanremo presents the movie “i won’t starve”

On February 9th at 3 p.m. at Casa Sanremo presents the movie Non morirò di fame (I will not starve).

The new film by Umberto Spinazzola starring Michele Di Mauro (Call My Agent Italy), renowned Polish actor Jerzy Stuhr and newcomer Chiara Merulla, will be in theaters from Feb. 15.

The director and Italian producer Alessandro Borrelli (La Sarraz Pictures) will show a preview of excerpts from the film and explain the distribution route that will begin in mid-February and will also include events organized together with Banco Alimentare, the foundation that fights against food waste. Also present at the event will be Giovanni Bruno – President of Banco Alimentare.

The film, in fact, tells the story of Pier (Michele Di Mauro), a former starred chef who lives on the margins of society but who will rediscover his love for cooking through a journey in food recovery, elaborating recipes with ingredients reused and saved from waste.

Accompanying him on this exciting journey will be the elderly aristocratic clochard-dweller Granata (played by Jerzy Stuhr, celebrated fetish actor of Andrzej Wajda, Krysztof Zanussi and Krysztof Kieślowski), who will help him rediscover his talent. And it will be thanks to this that Pier will be able to recover his difficult relationship with his daughter Anna (played by young Chiara Merulla, for the first time on the big screen).

The film is an Italian-Canadian co-production, produced by La Sarraz Pictures, Rai Cinema and Megafun Productions and distributed also by La Sarraz Pictures.
