The ’97 vintage was poorer than expected but is to be considered, quality-wise, exceptional. Negroamaro 70%, Malvasia nera 10% and Montepulciano 30%. It matures 24 months in barrique and six months in large barrels. The color is garnet with orange highlights. Full nose, dried fruit, balsamic notes and sour cherry. In the mouth it is complex but less persistent, the tannin returns on the finish.
