Castello di Querceto
DESCRIPTION
In Lucolena, on the northeastern borders of Chianti Classico, still stands the 16th-century Castello di Querceto, in which part of the walls of the pre-existing medieval castle are incorporated. It has been owned by the François family since 1897, and in the present day Alexander François has been producing austere and long-lived wines there for decades now, the result of high quality viticulture and very traditional methods in the cellar.
