100% Nebbiolo, from the top of the Pajé amphitheater. It matures about 9 years between wood and bottle. It impresses with a deep garnet color with still crimson highlights. The distinctly tertiary aromas are fascinating: it starts with incense and balsamic notes, revealing itself by adding sweet tobacco, licorice, and soft smokiness. With oxygenation it veers to spicy notes, humus, underbrush. The mouth has energy to spare, even with the tannic note relaxed and velvety. Infinite length.
Fewer than 1,000 bottles were produced, in a vintage that Papa Roagna remembers as exceptional in terms of grape quality.
