Bivium Restaurant, Café, Bar at Hotel Six Senses Rome

Six Senses Roma, il bar

The Six Senses is a 5-star luxury hotel in the center of Rome, and on the ground floor it offers this multifunctional venue, which is of excellent standard, convenient usability (it is open all day) and good quality. The prices are certainly not popular, but the portions are large and enjoyable, and the service is adequate to the offering.

At lunchtime on a very hot Saturday in late June, we were shopping on Via del Corso in Rome. From so much walking we get hungry and start thinking about a non-“tourist” place, in the worst sense of the word but we can’t think of anything. Then the enlightenment: the Six Senses Hotel, which we had visited a few months ago because of her, might be just right for us!

Several food corners

It is a very luxurious hotel (5*L), very recently opened, and on the ground floor is Bivium, which is at the same time a restaurant, a café, a bar, a cocktail bar, all contained in a huge luxurious hall, partly outdoors, where different gastronomic corners: fish, meat, vegetables, wood-fired oven pizza, pasta, salads, raw seafood, cold cuts, cheese, pastries etc etc. all of excellent quality and freshness. You take a seat at one of the large tables, no matter what time of day it is, start at 11 a.m. and until 10:30 p.m. and you can choose what you want from a handy and very extensive menu.

Of course, the prices are not low
, think of a minimum of 30 euros per serving. But, for example, my super big salad with chickpea humus, lots of vegetables, fruit, and rotisserie octopus was really lunch. The price, 35 euros, also includes a fruit and vegetable extract and a final coffee. Irina and our friend chose two different first courses, absolutely not mini portions, and they told me they were delicious.

Environmental Sustainability

The pizzas, baked in a wood-fired oven, made from ancient grain flours, you can also order them for lunch, which is now very rare. Also good is the basket of homemade breads and the company’s evo oil. The hotel places great emphasis on the environmental sustainability and, for example, they do not serve bottled water, only tapped and served in nice crock bottles that are used to keep it fresh and will not be put on your bill.

Bivium Restaurant‘s wine selection is also good.
, from mark-ups in line with the rest of the offer. Courteous and smiling service, for an overall experience of rare, spindly and elegant pleasantness, not to mention the goodness of whatever comes to your table and the convenience of being able to go there whenever you want, without wondering if it is open hours.
