The city of Lucca is preparing to become the stage for quality extra virgin olive oil for a weekend. Lucca Olive Oil You is born, the ambassador event of oil productions of excellence that, on Saturday and Sunday, February 1 and 2, will animate the splendid spaces of the Real Collegio. The event is part of Lucca 365, the project oriented to the promotion of the Lucca territory at any time of the year, with a 2025 calendar full of initiatives ranging from food and wine to cinema, passing through art, music and sporting events. Lucca Olive Oil You will therefore be the first event of this special year. The Festival, curated by Fausto Borella founder of the Maestrod’olio Academy, aims to become a point of reference for producers, enthusiasts and operators in the sector, celebrating extra virgin olive oil as an integral part in the history of the Lucca area and a great Italian excellence. During the weekend, 33 of Italy’s best producers will be present inside the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Exhibition-Market. As many as 60 labels will be on tasting, to tell the best of the oil production of this land, of Tuscany and of the entire national olive-growing panorama. An opportunity for tasting and dialogue with producers that will also see the presence of a Mixology space with bartender Mauro Picchi and his cocktails with EVO as protagonist. Therefore, the first edition of the Festival, a meeting point between producers, institutions and major industry professionals to tell the magnificent world of quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil, is being announced with great enthusiasm. A full immersion in olive taste and culture with a varied program that combines tasting, information and entertainment. The event, in collaboration with the Grand Universe Lucca & Residences (Marriott Bonvoy), Shaner Hotel Group and the Penn State University School of Hospitality Management, aims to consolidate the image of Lucca as the Capital of extra virgin olive oil also through the creation of an “oil card,” available in the best restaurants in the province. And, in parallel, with the presence in schools with an educational project promoted by the Maestrod’olio Academy, to raise awareness among young people about a conscious choice and the correct culture of EVO oil.
