VARIETY
Sangiovese from three parcels of the Marrucheto vineyard (10 ha.), planted in 2009 DESCRIPTION
The mild temperatures and low rainfall in the winter period, as well as in the spring, favored the early vegetative development of the vines. There were several rainfalls in June, accompanied by mild temperatures, which allowed a surprising vegetative-productive balance in the vineyards. The other summer months were warm and sunny, allowing perfect veraison and ripening of the grapes. The harvest took place earlier than normal. The grapes, in perfect condition, thanks to good temperature ranges and the absence of rain, presented excellent aromatic profiles and good acidity. Ruby red color tending to garnet, the nose is sweet and elegant. Sensory complexity is evident in the spicy traits of cinnamon and black pepper that evolve into fruity notes of ripe plums. Full-bodied, vibrant and broad on the palate, with balanced acidity. Soft, well-smoothed tannins. Harmonious and balanced finish makes this wine unique and with great personality. It goes well with dishes of great complexity, aromaticity and structure, enhanced by fine ingredients; it is also excellent tasted alone as a meditation wine. TECHNICAL NOTES
Soil: an area characterized by deposits of marine origin with coarse, well-rounded, light-brown pebbles immersed in a yellowish, sometimes reddish-brown sandy matrix. There are also well-defined areas in the area with yellowish-brown clayey sands. Training system: spurred cordon – Banfi sapling
