Give away 12,000 “Riccione Piadina” to departing tourists.
We all remember well the images of the flood that devastated Romagna last May. Yet the people of Romagna are capable sof always being welcoming and festive. In fact, it is a real celebration that of “Riccione Piadina” that took place yesterday at the highway toll booth to greet departing tourists and leave them with a sweet memory. Boys and girls offered tasty samples and souvenirs, amid merriment, smiles and music, to say “bye” see you soon in Riccione.
From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., 12,000 packages of “Piadina Wonders” were given away, along with as many samples of piadina and Nutella. This is a new record that surpasses last Sunday’s during which 10,000 piadinas were distributed. Also distributed for the first time yesterday were some 3,000 inflatable balloons of “Riccione Piadina,” Italy’s leading brand of piadina from Romagna for more than 25 years. All amazed and amused were the tourists, many of whom departed enthusiastically waving goodbye with beautiful honks. “In Romagna you are fantastic,” someone said, “only in Riccione they give you piadina and ball to enter the highway,” “hello Romagna mia, you are wonderful,” were the comments on social media.
The party to greet vacationers with all the warmth of Romagna will also take place next Sunday.
