The fifth edition of Best Wine Stars, the Milanese tasting event that enlivened Palazzo del Ghiaccio for three days thanks to the presence of Italian and international companies from the food, wine and spirits sectors, has concluded.

Best Wine Stars – the numbers
Sponsored by the City of Milan, Best Wine Stars was attended by more than 6,000 visitors, of which 45% buyers and 20% journalists. From May 18 to 20, the public who visited the event had the opportunity to discover more than 1,200 labels .Various in-depth events took place during the three days of Best Wine Stars.
Participating companies interfaced with approximately 3900 industry professionals, Italians and foreigners, from 15 countries.
Also reconfirmed for yet another year was the success of masterclass and talk, which within the Piranesi Hall sold out over the three-day event. Fabio Bacchi, Founder of BarTales and Roma Bar Show, Adua Villa, Winewriter and Digital Entrepreneur, Valentina Vercelli, Professional journalist for La Cucina Italiana, Condé Nast Traveller, Slowine and Civiltà del Bere, Francis Quarna, DEEJAY Radio Speaker and Winemaker, Stefania Vinciguerra, Editor-in-chief DoctorWine, Mattia Asperti, Professional Sommelier and Taster: Creator of the community The Divine Sommelier and Giambattista Marchetto, Wine Journalist – Director Vinonews24, spoke during the various highlights to tell the story and uniqueness of the various wine and spirits companies presented.
Also highly appreciated was the year’s new addition, the BWS Village, an elegant and comfortable area, positioned on the Balcony of Palazzo Del Ghiaccio and enriched with the extraordinary creations of Not of Only Wood, dedicated to press and industry professionals, where some of the labels of the companies in the parterre could be seen on display.
BEST WINE STARS – The Awards
The day of Sunday, May 19 opened with the ceremony of the Best Wine Stars Awards. The awards ceremony, conducted by entrepreneur, sommelier and wine writer Adua Villa, was attended by the exhibiting companies and numerous journalists and restaurateurs.
The Best Red and Best White Wine
The Best Red Wine was won by the company Albino Armani Winemakers Since 1607 for the label Egle Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore 2022, for identifying and investing in the highest hills of Valpolicella Classica, in Marano, where vineyards occupy the last strip of arable land before the extreme edge of the mountains. Mastrangelo Cellars was awarded the Best White Wine with the label Margherì Matera Greco DOC 2021, a wine that surprised for its freshness and evolution in the closing given by its sweeter and softer notes, daughters not of a passage in wood but rather the result of a slow evolution. The Best Rosé Wine goes to Château de Saint-Martin, represented in Italy by Wines of France, for the label Eternelle Favorite Cru Class 2023, Cotes De Provence AOC, wins everyone over with its extreme refinement and elegance and typical Provençal pink color. Rainers Franciacorta is recognized with the Best Sparkling Wine for its Blanc de Blancs made from pure Chardonnay, which rests for 30 months on the lees, Raineri Franciacorta DOCG Satèn 2020.
Award recipients from Adua Villa
Selected by the same Adua Villa are also the winners of the Best Vinum Innovation, Best Hospitality Project e Best Green Project. The project Resveratrol increased of the company Le Vigne di Isabella e Cecilia was awarded the Best Vinum Innovation. To the winery Colle Delle 100 Bottiglie S.S. Soc. Agricola goes the award Best Green Project For the landscape restoration of two historic cru of Lucca. Finally, the award Best Hospitality Project to the company Corte San Ruffillo, for reinterpreting canonical hospitality activities in a contemporary and attractive key by investing in the quality of services, beauty.
Fabio Bacchi’s awardees
Expert Fabio Bacchi presented the Best Herbal Liqueurs and Best Spirits awards.. In particular Amaro Amaravigghia 2024 by Sicilian company Maravigghia Srl has won the Best Herbal Liqueurs. Best Spirits, on the other hand, went to Saint Bernard Distillery Srl with its Alpine Gin 2023, thanks to its testimony to craftsmanship with an ancient flavor.
Stefania Conti’s awardees
The reporter from StarZ N TV, a program aired on Sky Italy, Stefania Conti has awarded the company Ca’ Boschi srl for the Best Logo e The Sea is Life Poseidon Gin with the award Best Label. The company Bulfon received the Landini Award presented by Filippo Pappagallo, Sales Area Manager of Argo Tractors Group.
Finally, two other important awards were given: Best Buyer Selection e MILAN WINE EXPLORER – Best Wine Stars’ recommendations.. The latter award was given to entities on the Milan and Lombardy scene that stand out for their wine and spirits offerings. John Azucena, Wine Importer ID Beverage & Wine Ddistibutor PW Distributors NY, Paola Longo, owner of Enoteca Longo, e Niccolo Giancarlo Cavrioli, Partesa Wine Specialist, Instead, they awarded the Best Buyer Selection, special mentions dedicated to those labels that they considered most interesting for their markets. Winning the award were the companies Aljano, Casal Dell’Arco – 1932, Col Parè Farm, Cerbero Winery e La Lignite Winery awarded by John Azucena. Niccolò Giancarlo Cavrioli, on the other hand, awarded. Attanasio Giuseppe, Colle Mora Winery, Ferrari Winery, Colesel, Artimino Estate. Finally, Tenuta Massanova was selected by Paola Longo.
Dinner
Finally, also this year Best Wine Stars crossed the boundaries of the Ice Palace with a Best Wine Stars Business Dinner. The dinner, held at the restaurant Armonia Restaurant & Bar, allowed selected guests to discover more closely the excellence of the companies Arche’ srl, Borgoverde Società Agricola, Champagne Jarry Heritage, Feud of Balio, The Vineyards of Isabella and Cecilia e Sensi Vini – Fattoria di Calappiano, paired with dishes specially designed for each label.
