Soave is one of Italy’s historic white wines, which has been making a comeback in recent years. We have chosen two that cost the public less than 10 euros.
Recognized as “typical wine” as early as 1931, Soave is much more than a wine. Territory, sustainable wine system and protected rural landscape coexist in a unique spatial dimension with fiery and turbulent geological origins.
For many it is the Veneto white par excellence, which after ups and downs due to its excessive popularity, has made a comeback thanks in part to the careful study, research and repositioning activities carried out by the Consorzio di Tutela.
Here, however, we do not want to talk about the work done in recent years to redevelop Soave, but simply point out two pleasant and well-made ones, which are priced to the public within 10 euros.
Monteforte winery: 600 members, a reality
The Cantina di Monteforte is a cooperative reality of the Alpone Valley, the area of the doc Soave and doc Lessini Durello area characterized by black soils. Ancient and sloping these soils make viticulture nothing short of heroic. Cantina di Monteforte is an entity in the territory that groups together small producers with truly unique plots. With the Clivus line it touches its qualitative apex, offering at an excellent value for money authentic products with great personality and pleasantness.
Three hills for the Magnabosco family of Montetondo
Monte Tenda, Monte Foscarino and Monte Tondo, from which the winery takes its name, are the starting point for the work and winemaking passion of theMagnabosco family. Witness the special bond the winery has forged between its wines and the history of these hills. The Magnabosco family, in fact, has been working the vineyards in the Soave area since more than three generations. Today Gino and Luca offer some really interesting Soave Classico wines. The top-of-the-line Soave both come from Monte Foscarino vineyards, but Soave Monte Tondo is also very good and is offered at an affordable price.
